"Contemporary Elderships 2025"

2025

On the evening of May 30, visitors were invited to an exceptional event where the past meets the future, and the historic Raudondvaris Manor comes to life through art, innovative technologies, and community spirit. “The Return of Count Tiškevičius, or When the East Met Raudondvaris” was a memorable journey through time, revealing how the 19th-century Raudondvaris Manor not only shaped local culture but also left an indelible mark on the history of the region.

The first part of the event featured a theatrical procession symbolizing the inauguration of Count Benediktas Jonas Tiškevičius into the manor, interpreted through Eastern traditions. A dance improvisation and lanterns crafted by the community illuminated the manor’s paths, creating a unique and atmospheric setting. It was an opportunity to witness a symbolic transfer of the Raudondvaris Manor – the moment when Benediktas Henrikas Tiškevičius handed over the manor keys to his son, Benediktas Jonas Tiškevičius. This significant moment was brought to life through a contemporary artistic interpretation.

The second part of the event invited visitors to experience a digital recreation of the manor, utilizing artificial intelligence and the latest technologies. Through visual projections, the historic façade of the manor and an exotic paradise garden were revived – complete with holograms of plants and animals, highlighting the manor’s uniqueness. A digitally generated Count Tiškevičius, brought to life with the help of AI, shared memories of his travels and revealed lesser-known stories from the history of Raudondvaris.

To enhance the sense of community, participants were invited to join creative workshops and decorate outdoor lanterns, which became an integral part of the procession.

Visitors wishing to take part in the theatrical procession were encouraged to add an Eastern flair to their attire – perhaps with a delicate silk scarf or another symbolic accent.

“The Return of Count Tiškevičius / When the East Met Raudondvaris” was not just an event, but a modern interpretation of Raudondvaris’ history, merging art, technology, and community. It was an invitation to view the manor’s past from a new perspective and to see how ancient traditions blend with modern technology to create a truly unique experience.
