2-part comedy “Three Loved Ones” | Premiere | Raudondvaris Manor Arts Incubator
On 22 March, 6 pm, at Raudondvaris Manor Arts Incubator – a drama of feelings (with human weaknesses and tricks) about the eternal need to be loved.
Actress Kristina Kazlauskaitė once again takes on direction and this time it’s the comedy “Three Loved Ones” by Julia Beniuševičiūtė-Žymantienė, better known as Žemaitė.
The play is set in a Lithuanian village. The village bachelor Ludwig tries to seduce three loved ones at the same time – a mother and her two daughters who live in one of the village huts. However, his aim is not love but wealth. The young man tries to swindle his mother out of the money she has saved. This is where the comedy of various situations – lies, deceit, seduction – is born, as each of the three women falls seriously in love with Ludwig.
The vivid characters will be embodied by legendary theatre actors: the role of the Mother is played by actresses Dalia Brenciūtė and Violeta Podolskaitė. The younger generation actors Balys Ivanauskas and Artūras Dubaka will share the role of Ludwig, while the daughters will be played alternately by Redita Dominaitytė and Kristina Savickytė (Petronėlė) and Aistė Lasytė and Veronika Tarasevičiūtė (Domicelė). Vytautas Taukinaitis and Gediminas Storpirštis will play the farmer Kozeris.
“Three Loved Ones” is one of the works of national drama that remains relevant today. Three women and one man. Deceit or sincerity? Love or deduction? Eternal questions, to which Kristina Kazlauskaitė, using her own visions as a director, the talents of her actors, the spoken dialects, and the range of human qualities and feelings, will try to answer in a sensual, dramatic and comic way.
