2026
On the evening of June 12, the Kaunas State Philharmonic, together with the Pažaislis Music Festival, invites audiences to a concert pulsating with southern passion and rhythms, titled FROM RHAPSODY TO TANGO.
At the Raudondvaris Manor Arts Incubator Hall, the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra will perform under the baton of Robertas Šervenikas, joined by internationally acclaimed accordion virtuoso Radu Ratoi. Already familiar to audiences, the performer stands out for his technical mastery, stage energy, and exceptional feel for the instrument.
The concert program will bring together musical traditions from different regions – from a Romanian rhapsody to Argentine tango, from flamenco-inspired melodies to contemporary concert music.
Listeners will hear works by George Enescu, Georges Bizet, Ástor Piazzolla, Faustas Latėnas, as well as Spanish composers Isaac Albéniz and Joaquín Malats, and the soloist’s own arrangement of Franz Waxman’s Carmen Fantasy.
On this summer evening, vibrant rhythms, colorful melodies, and the sound of the accordion will merge into a unified, energy-filled musical narrative.
