24th Pažaislis music festival. Signs from Bulgaria: folklore motifs in jazz

The colourful Bulgaria will be presented by the sounds of music of trumpeter Miroslav Petkov and “Bodurov trio”.
Since 2016 Miroslav is the trumpeter of one of the most prestigious orchestras in Europe – Amsterdam’s Royal Concertgebouw orchestra. But in this concert he will take a different role. Besides the classical music he is also an expert at folk and jazz music: “it helps me to broaden the limits of thinking. And classical music after all is based on folk,- says M. Petkov.”
“Bodurov trio” is created by pianist Dimitar Bodurov. The group has been playing for 18 years already. Love for folk music of own country, energy, poetry, jazz elements – these are the signs that artists create with their unique music style. Such kind of music is enchanting, inclusive. “Signs from Bulgaria” common programme based on Bulgarian folk songs and dances.
