6th Lithuanian Inclusive Music Competition–Festival for Children and Youth “Perliukai” in the Kaunas Region
The competition–festival “Perliukai” is a traditional, ongoing, and innovative event, organized every three years in Lithuania. It is a competition–festival for singers and instrumentalists that fosters creativity among children and young people (aged 3–35) with various disabilities, encourages musical self-expression, and selects the best vocal and instrumental ensembles as well as solo performers.
This is an inclusive cultural event where talented and gifted children and young people—both with and without disabilities—from across Lithuania make their debut, showcase their musical abilities, collaborate with music professionals, gain creative and concert experience, and contribute to building a community of like-minded individuals striving to actively engage in the country’s cultural life.
Participants aged 3–35 with various disabilities may take part in the competition—both solo performers and ensembles of different compositions (vocal, instrumental, vocal-instrumental, etc.) of up to 15 people (including group leaders, accompanists, etc.).
Ensembles may also include participants with disabilities who are over 35 years old, as well as individuals without disabilities (not exceeding 50% of the ensemble composition).
