Embark on a heartfelt journey with Lina Rastokaitė’s solo concert “Music That Changed Lithuania.” In this emotional event, audiences will hear well-known music that once changed Lithuania. Vytautas Kernagis’ and Hiperbolė’s compositions, songs from “Devil’s Bride” and other Lithuanian musicals, as well as songs based on the poetry of Algimantas Baltakis, Antanas Miškinis, Paulius Širvys, and contemporary composers will resonate throughout. The music will be accompanied by lively narrations about the lives of Lithuanian creators.
“With these compositions, we all grew up, experienced them, and sang them countless times. They changed not only us but also Lithuania. I will tell the audience how it all happened. I will also share some amusing, spicy stories from the lives of musicians and poets. You’ll learn about Širvys’s conversation with a stranger on a train, the creative struggles of Vytautas Kernagis, the mystical and unexplained occurrences during the production of ‘Devil’s Bride,’ and which earthly location served as the backdrop for the paradise scene seen in the musical, among many other curiosities,” says the performer.
Audiences will not only delve into lyrical, nostalgic moments. There will be true musical adventures and jokes, concert will be dynamic and thrilling. Expect a wide variety of genres and emotions, with a plethora of colors.
