Tired of banalities, cheap jokes, soap opera plots, and computer-generated music? Here, viewers will see sincere, REAL comedy. And an extraordinary one at that – a musical! “Is America in the sauna?!” is the first Lithuanian play revived with music and songs, which is touring Lithuanian cities to great success.
“Ah, America…” – the characters in the play sigh repeatedly, knowing full well that “the grass is always greener on the other side.” Here, Lithuanian brooms will shatter the mirages of the “promised land,” and the heat of the sauna will wittily expose the weaknesses of the gullible and the cunning of the selfish. The human vices that have become caricatured characters – greed, stupidity, and pride – will allow us to laugh at the characters (and perhaps ourselves).
