16 November 2024, 6 pm at Raudondvaris Manor Art Incubator – cult performance THE WEDDING directed by Oskaras Koršunovas.
The performance is based on the work of German classic Bertolt Brecht and is based on contemporary issues. A phenomenal phenomenon and constantly changing, the performance is a new adventure and a lasting memory. It deals with the moral duplicity of society, and the whole action revolves around the pre-wedding loss of a bride’s chastity. But “The Wedding” is not only about duplicitous morality and chastity, it is also about the disintegration of customs, the absurd deformation of what were once the most sacred things in human existence: weddings, funerals, the traditions of feeling and celebrating the cosmogonic cycle. The performance is very open and improvisational, and the types and situations created are so apt that they leave no one indifferent.
Produced by OKT/Vilnius City Theatre, Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
Please note that the actors smoke during the performance.
Based on Bertolt Brecht’s play “The City Wedding”
